If the majority of my needles were straights, yes. But, most of mine (read all but like 3 pair) are circulars. So, you'd want to find out which your person would want/need.

Yes, I would have liked to have received that...as it is, I bought myself something very similar pre-compact.
Mine has narrow pockets for straight needles and wider ones for circular.
I've been wanting to learn how to do this, so yes, I would be interested.
like kim said - that would be totally handy, if there's a way for circular needles to fit into it.
